Currently accepting applications for a part-time dispatcher position scheduled to work 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in the MTAA Police & Fire Department.
Dispatchers are responsible for receiving, documenting, and relaying to the appropriate personnel incoming and outgoing requests for law enforcement, structural fires, medical and ARFF response.
Dispatchers use the phonetic/aeronautical alphabet for communicating and utilizing radio equipment to its fullest. Entry, update, and retrieval of information from the computer system. Monitors radio frequencies, answers questions, and provides information to the public. Maintains accurate, up-to date files and logs. Use of good judgment when making decisions in emergency and routine situations. Performs some clerical duties that are assigned by management to meet deadlines. Confidentiality is a must. Applicants must be able to pass a background check. Hourly rate of $13.53.
